How are you feeling?

Jan 14

By the 4th month of pregnancy, you’ve been asked this question so many times, you really start to get sick of it!! Pretty good, no complaints, tired, pregnant, and most recently, ready, are my favorite answers. I know people mean well, so I don’t want this to come off as cold hearted, but getting asked the same question 25 times a day for 10 months gets really really old! LOL!!

Since it’s usually only asked in quick conversation and my answers are normally one or two worded, I’ll let you all know how I really am feeling. Maybe no one actually cares, LOL, but I’m going to tell you anyways!

I spend more than half of my day and most of the night in the bathroom. It’s really not fun peeing so much! I do drink a lot of water but I swear a ton more comes out than goes in. I don’t even know how it’s possible!! I literally get up 5-6 times every night. It’s pretty much every hour!

I’m sick of going to the doctor’s! I know it’s what’s best for me and Lauren but I am now going to some doctor’s office or the hospital every day of the week. I just hope our insurance is paying for everything…..fingers crossed. The plus side of this is since I am going to the hospital for non stress tests twice a week, I am getting to meet and know all of the labor and delivery nurses already. They all are really nice and I’m very happy to be delivering at Brockton Hospital :)

I’m getting really really anxious. I just want to have this baby already! After yesterdays OB appointment and finding out I’m not dialated at all, I’m convinced Lauren is never coming out. I seriously would have been happy for 1/2 a centimeter! Not only do I want to meet her and hold her and kiss her chubby cheeks, I am done with being pregnant. I’m at the “uncomfortable” stage. I have serious pelvic pain that is going to continue until she is born, my back hurts after standing for 2 minutes, it’s very hard to get comfortable when sitting or laying down, as well as many other things.

I’m scared that I will have to have a c-section. I know it’s what I wanted in the beginning, but it’s not what I want now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m also completely petrified of giving birth naturally, but I really don’t want to have to heal from a c-section. The doctor right now is saying that we will watch Lauren’s weight, and if it gets over 9 1/2 pounds, since I broke my pelvis before, we will start thinking about a c-section. I want to talk to her more about inducing before Lauren gets that big but I don’t think it’s a very good option because babies of diabetic Mom’s lungs develop slower, so the OB would really like to see me go as close to 40 weeks as possible. I on the other hand, am ready to deliver now. But I know I have to wait till Lauren is good and ready and I of course want her lungs, and everything else, to be fully developed and ready, too.

Who knows what will happen. Only time will tell. Hopefully it won’t be a long time, but it will tell. LOL!

Pregnancy

Jan 09

The top 10 things about being pregnant:

1. Maternity pants!! These are the best invention ever! Especially the secret fit belly kind. I seriously love them and I wish I could continue wearing them forever!!

2. Hearing the heartbeat. Whether it’s the very first time or you’ve heard it a million times before, it’s truly amazing. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

3. People touching my belly! I know, maybe I’m weird. A lot of people don’t like this. But as long it’s not a stranger who comes up and touches me without permission, I absolutely love it! So come on everybody, touch my belly!!!

4. Looking at (and buying!) all the cute, little pink clothes! I’m sure blue clothes are just as much fun, too!! Everything is just so darn cute! How could you not buy it!!

5. The fact that you are gaining lots of weight and it’s not only ok, it’s expected!

6. This goes with the last one…..eating dessert almost every night and not being judged!

7. Sleeping/resting for most of the 9+ months you are pregnant and people encouraging you to do it even more. I love to sleep, bring it on!!

8. All the anticipation and knowing how much things are going to change. I am so ready to be a Mom!

9. Feeling her move. It is so magical. Every little flutter or huge kick is the most amazing feeling in the world, even if it hurts!! I love knowing that she’s in there moving around and growing. I’m making a human being, what’s your super power? LOL!

10. Knowing that no matter how hard or easy the 40 weeks were, it will all be worth it in the end. I can not wait to hold her for the very first time and know what honest to God true unconditional love is.

Nursery

Jan 09

The nursery is finally ready for Lauren! It took us quite some time to get there, though! Victor is so amazing!! He did all the work by himself! He is going to be such a great Daddy!! I did all the crafty stuff which was a lot of fun!! Everything came out perfect and I really think Lauren will love her room!!
