New addition :)

Oct 28

Yup….Lauren’s going to be a big sister!!! I’m officially 12 weeks today and I’m due May 11th. Although at the ultrasound I had on Tuesday the baby was measuring a little over a week ahead so we’ll see.

We are scared, about a lot of things….how Lauren’s going to be when the baby gets here, money, losing sleep, and how we’re going to handle having 2 children, but we know we can do it and we are so excited!!! And I know Lauren’s going to be a great big sister!! She tells me she loves the baby, kisses my belly, and carries an ultrasound picture around the house. It melts my heart!

I’m feeling good! Really good actually. Other than my already large belly, I’ve been wearing maternity clothes for weeks, some days I forget I’m even pregnant! It’s probably partially due to the toddler I’m constantly chasing around :) I was nauseous for a few weeks but that’s thankfully over with and I’ve been pretty tired (aren’t I always though?) but that seems to be getting somewhat better, too! All in all, I don’t feel much different than I did when I was pregnant with Lauren….another girl perhaps?

I’m so happy it’s no longer a secret so I can really enjoy being pregnant, especially since I know this will be my last pregnancy. Two is more than plenty for us!! Even if it is another girl! One of each would be perfect, of course. And I would LOVE to give Victor a boy. But another girl would almost be easier, although I’ll totally take that statement back when they are both teenagers, ugh. But seriously, we have a girl so we know what to expect and we have all the girl clothes and stuff already. We’d be pretty much all set! Most of the bigger stuff we got for Lauren I got so either sex could use so we’ll be pretty set either way, other than clothes and bedding and a few things. I’m not too worried about it. Healthy is all we care about! We already have our appointment set up for when we find out! December 8th!! But we won’t know that day….I’m going to have them write it down, seal it up, and we’re going to open it on Christmas morning!! Well that’s my plan. We’ll see if I have the patience for it :)

Stayed tuned for more pregnancy updates!

ToT

Sep 20

I was thinking the other day about a previous ToT that I did….the 10 things I do every day. I was wondering how many of them had changed. Turns out, it was almost exactly a year ago that I posted it and not much has changed at all :)

And ten things I do do everyday:
1. Wash my hair (Still do this! It’s a must!!)
2. Drink a coffee (Uh huh!)
3. Apply sunblock (Everyday, no matter the weather…..harmful UV rays are always present!) (Of course!!)
4. Put on mascara (Yup)
5. Watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (This isn’t an everyday thing anymore. We do usually watch it but we’re more of a Nick Jr household these days)
6. Clean and sanitize the bottles (Gets done everyday after dinner….it’s never ending!!!) (Now this is something that has changed. BUT, I do still clean sippy cups every night, and it’s never ending!)
7. Clean up pee and/or (usually and) poop from the damn dogs (I am very happy, and proud, to say that this is occurring much less frequently!! I’d say I clean up poop maybe once a week and hardly ever pee. That makes me very happy! Yay dogs!!)
8. Tell Lauren she’s beautiful (Way more than one time a day)
9. Tell Victor I love him (I sure do!)
10. Go to bed by 9pm (Now that Lauren is going to bed at 9pm, I usually stay up until about 10pm. That’s an improvement, right?!)

Fortune cookies

Sep 18

So a few months ago, I went to PF Chang’s with the ladies. We had a wonderful dinner and lots of laughs! When we were done, we had our fortune cookies. Mine had no fortune. I was upset because that is bad luck. But I hadn’t really thought about it and my luck hasn’t been all that bad since. Well, last night, we were having chinese food for the first time since that incident with Mike and Jenny and the kids. During dinner I said, “last time I had chinese food, my fortune cookie had no fortune!” They all said they had never seen that happen before. So we finished our meal and opened our fortune cookies. And once again, MINE HAD NO FORTUNE!!! I am a fairly superstitious person but even someone who isn’t at all must think this is a little strange! Seriously, twice in a row, on 2 different occasions, from 2 completely different chinese food restaurants. I’ve heard from a few people now that its actually good luck but I think they’re just trying to make me feel better. I’m watching my step very carefully though for the near future. Wish me luck ;)

NRT sheep pasture

Sep 17

So I’ve been wanting to go check out the sheep pasture forever! And I really have no excuse as to why we haven’t been…its only 5 minutes from my house and its free!! So we finally went and it was so much fun! Lauren loved seeing and feeding all the animals. There are a bunch of walking trails that we didn’t even check out but we will soon, I’m sure!

Flashback Friday

Sep 16

This time last year, we were getting ready for our Pimental family trip to Disney! We had so much fun and I can not wait to go back!! Hopefully in a few years :) This was my favorite picture from the trip! We are a goofy bunch!! I only wish we had put the bar on the stroller down so you could see Lauren better….but we’ll know better for next time!

Imagination Station

Aug 23

There’s a new playground in town….and it’s awesome!! Randolph just finished construction on Imagination Station and Lauren and I went to check it out this morning. Vovo and Arianna came, too, and we saw our friends Gayle, Shawn, Nate, and Brayden! The play space is great! It’s somewhat shaded and fenced, which I love. There’s a covered picnic area and lots of climbing structures, slides and swings for the kids, including a smaller area that’s perfect for toddlers. There are some musical instruments that were a big hit! There’s also a small splash park which is so awesome!! I know it just opened and who knows what it will look like a year from now, but the park was very clean and beautiful! While we were there, a field trip from a local child care center showed up. Total bummer. But the play space is so big and set up so well that it didn’t feel as crowded as I thought it would with the 30+ kids from that group as well as multiple families there to play. It was a ton of fun and we will definitely be going back a lot!

Beach birthday

Aug 15

Yesterday the whole famn damily headed to Peters Pond for some beach and boating fun! Even though we don’t really need an excuse to get together, we went to celebrate Julie’s and Mitch’s birthday! It was raining when we left the house, cloudy and a bit chilly the whole time we were there, and raining again when we left to go home, but we still had a ton of fun!! The kids had a blast playing in the sand and on the swings and also swimming, teeth chattering the whole time! And of course, fun was had on the boat, it was Lauren’s first time!! She had fun going fast but as soon as we stopped, just as I suspected, she was not happy. We weren’t moving, there wasn’t much space for her to move around, and there was nothing for her to do. She screamed the whole way back to the beach and that’s when we decided to leave. Like I said, it had started to sprinkle plus it was way past her nap time. But we had a great day and I can’t wait to do it again next year!!

Just my luck….

Aug 12

Foxwoods was so much fun!!! We didn’t win any money but we didn’t lose too much either so I honestly count that as winning. Lol! I relaxed, had my manicure, read by the pool at the spa, and tried to take a nap….but I still can’t believe I couldn’t fall asleep!! What is wrong with me?! We had an amazing dinner and had a blast playing black jack. Victor taught me a few basics and now I’m addicted to the game! I want to go back to play!!

I called to check on Lauren around 6:30. She was doing fine!! She took a good nap, ate all her dinner, and was playing. She hadn’t asked for us at all! (As sad as that makes me, it made me very happy as well!) I hung up the phone feeling great! About 45 minutes later, as Victor and I sat at the bar to have a drink before dinner, I noticed I had a missed call from Connie. My heart started racing. Then Victors phone began to ring and I knew it was her. I immediately started thinking all sorts of bad things. He answered the phone and was just nodding his head for a long while, too long. I felt sick to my stomach. Turns out, Lauren was running, fell, and hit her head on the door. She had a big egg on her head and Connie was freaking out! I was a little bit too but she said Lauren was acting fine now. She had put some ice on it for as long as Lauren would let her, probably 30 seconds total. We convinced her it was not a big deal. We told her this happens a lot and the bump won’t look as bad in the morning. We told her to give her some Advil and just make sure she continues to act fine. Which she did. Thank goodness.

I didn’t want to drink a lot, I actually only had 1 drink, or stay up too late because I wanted to feel refreshed in the morning, not hung over or drained. So we were in bed by 12:30. Not bad. Next thing I knew, I was woken up by a loud buzz buzz buzz sound. Somehow, the alarm clock in the room had been set and went off at 6am!!!!! So much for sleeping in!! Just my freaking luck!!! I couldn’t figure out how to turn the damn thing off! I wanted to throw it out the window!! I ended up ripping the cord out of the wall! Oi vey! I did fall back asleep, woke up at 7 then fell back asleep again and woke up at 8:15. Seriously, what happened to my sleeping skills?? But I guess technically, we did get to sleep in. Ugh.

We went to breakfast then packed up and headed home. We missed our little petunia :) We got home around 11:30. The bump was not big at all and Lauren was smiling and happy! Connie was tired, she didn’t sleep well because she was nervous about Lauren’s injury, but she enjoyed the time with her! All in all, it was a good trip! I’m so glad we did this. I’m sure it won’t happen again for a long time. And the next time we do go away, I’m unplugging the alarm clock before we go to bed. Just in case.

Night Out!!

Aug 09

Victor and I are heading to Foxwoods tomorrow and we are spending the night!! Its our first night away from Lauren. Although I am a little nervous about leaving her and I know I will miss her tons, I am mostly just excited about going! I’m excited to relax, take a nap, read a book, and sleep in! Even if its only till 7:30, its going to feel so good and I can’t wait!! I’m going to the spa to get a manicure and I plan on relaxing in the room and/or by the pool. Victor is going to gamble, of course, and I may or may not join him. I haven’t decided yet. I bought myself a new dress and we have dinner reservations at Craftsteak. I can not wait! I’m going to try to persuade Victor to go dancing afterwards….we’ll see how that goes. Lol! He’s afraid he’s not going to sleep well knowing we are away from Lauren but I think I’m going to sleep like a baby. I really hope that doesn’t make me a horrible person. I just think that since I am with her pretty much 24/7, I need this little break. Who knows when I’ll get another night like this! Also, I know Lauren is going to be fine….this is good for her, too. Plus, she’ll be at home, so she’ll be very comfortable, with Victor’s Mom, who she adores. Everyone is going to have fun! We’re leaving after we put Lauren down for her nap tomorrow and aren’t too sure what time we’ll be back on Thursday. Check out is at 11 but we may be ready to get back to our princess earlier than that. But maybe we’ll sleep till 11….yeah right!! Wish us all luck!!!
